You guys go ahead and talk rivalries and basketball stuff...I will highlight the most important aspect of Chesty's comment.
You're welcome (if it's the dude's twitter that comes up, click on Mrs. Steele's photo).

Luv ya Chesty, but X ain't gonna go nowheres and definitely NOT gonna maintain a position at the top of the BE.
Time will tell the tale, but if I were you I'd keep a close eye on the folk from lil' Creighton. Jays are the team
that will reckon with Jay & the Radnorites. The Muskies can't hold Zegarowski's jockstrap!
i love how you can oscillate between this and simultaneously wanting to fire mcdermott
Oscillate? I am nothing if not consistent / both in my dedication to my Jays and for the want of an upper tier HC to lead them.
Coaches are the stars of todays College Basketball. I want a proven HC who can get top players and win...who will give lil Creighton
a legit shot to compete at the highest level... That-s all. It's not too much to ask.
I luv my team...to the bitter end and beyond. I have been a Creightonian since 1975 and have seen coaches come and go.
My loyalties are with the program and the players. It is not necessary to love nor like a given coach.
Now to be fair, ol' Mac is a good guy and a pretty good coach. He just doesn't win enough, nor has he won any sort of BE trophy.
He had the Great White Hope / the Larry Bird of this generation (his son) and could not make a SS over that 4 year span. THAT, my friend sticks in my craw :
is where the rubber meets the road : where I draw the line...etc., ad nauseum.
I always want my guys to excell, to exceed common expectations, to thrive. Hell, if they achieve this season above Mac's coaching level - so be it.
However, he has a knack for choking in the big game (see 2 BET finals) and barely making the dance. This is year 10 and if the administration and AD
could get over their ingrained fears of program regression, they'd see that we have already regressed to our MVC mean and a better coach is in order
to take the program higher.
I like Mac but Creighton can do better.
I have been saying it for a little while now, but with a guy like Steele at the helm, and the way he continues to reel in bigtime recruiting classes to X, I really have a feeling that one of the great Big East rivalries that is going to develop will be Villanova and Xavier. Both programs have been very consistent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
