Their size down low and improved defense will be tough to contend with. After that, the Jays are getting healthy at the right time. I have more trust in Zegarowski than any other BE point guard.

1 Seton Hall - Powell will carry them to BE title
2 Creighton - with Mintz (if his ankle is good) and Mahoney the Jays can wear teams out
3 Villanova - missing go-to guys and 3s aren’t falling. Obviously still dangerous
4 Butler - they look like the real deal, but BE coaches may find ways of shutting down a similar roster like they did last year
5 Depaul - seeing a 9-9 finish with pretty good home court wins for the Demons
6 Marquette - Howard will shoot his ways to wins by himself
7 Xavier - fears that their shooting may hold them back a little
8 St John’s - some impressive wins but 8 Q4 wins too, looking a lot more disciplined
9 Georgetown - think teams will scheme to stop McClung and Yurtseven
10 Providence - scared they’ll play like they did vs Texas, but honestly this team couldn’t get the ball through the basket for 12 games

Your write up for xavier is a fear that our shooting may hold us back a little. You're not wrong, but creighton's defense is even worse than our offense, by a lot. Does that concern you?

Word from Omaha is Mintz is going to transfer out for his senior year. Hope it’s not true

Here are mine..

Top Tier
1) Butler - looks like the most complete team in the non-Conf
2) Nova - may take a loss or 2 to start - jay will have them playing like their pedigree by Feb
3) Seton Hall - too much talent - will be consistently in the top 3 due to the talent they have.

Next Tier
4) Creighton - only thing preventing me from putting them in the top Tier is that McD will cause them to lose a game or 2 with poor coaching decisions
5) Marquette - they go as Howard goes. He will carry them on his back for a couple of Ws - but if he disappears in a game can the rest of the team carry them
6) Xavier - The Core Four have not shot it as well as Creighton and Naji is not Howard - hence below Creighton and Marquette
7) Georgetown - Their defense is not strong enough to rank above X - and they have a thin bench which will lead to a couple Ls in Feb

Last Tier

8) Depaul - this is the BEast - not the non conf schedule they played
9) Providence - lack of consistency
10) St. Johns - New Coach, New System - not as much talent as they should have

I wanted to put Seton Hall top 3, but I'm very surprised people have them top 2. Are they really THAT talented? Powell may be the best player in the league, but I don't see any other great talents on that team, at least not yet. I think Sandro is their second-best player, and he is likely out until February.

Is Seton Hall without Sandro more talented than Butler, Creighton, Marquette, or Xavier? I'm not convinced. And while SHU wants Powell back for the second BE game, concussions are hard to predict. There are no gimmes in Big East play, and @DePaul, vsGTown, @Xavier, vsMARQ, @Butler is no joke. That could easily be 1-3 or 0-4 if things break poorly.

Honestly...? No idea. Conference is wide open, especially if Providence continues to play like they did against Texas.

LOL

The Mintz news is that Bluejayunderground poster ‘Simone’ is reporting that they heard Mintz is transferring due to a conversation they had at 31 Flavors, and now not only does everyone take it as Gospel, they’re running over here to break the ‘news’.

That’s the Mintz news.

The source was an assistant coach. That’s pretty legit

The source was somebody saying they knew somebody who talked to an assistant coach two months ago. It’s ancient and not even straight from the horses mouth, and didn’t even say he was leaving, it said that at the time of the ‘conversation’ Mintz was LEANING that way.

That’s not worth the pixels it’s printed on, plus there are other people indicating otherwise.

Hey Butlerites! What's with Kamar. Is he sick, depressed? Just having an off week?
His shooting was horrendous today and I am constantly counting on him (fantasy league).

Hard to say, but 6 assist today... He's in a slump, but BU keeps the why's very close to the chest. I think he's fine and will bounce back hard in the next few games.
Lets go Dawgs!
