I dunno... I'd argue that if Dan Hurley was able to add the 3 2018 Ollie recruits, he would be more than alright.,

Ollies 2018 Class:
Emmitt Matthews - Starring at WVU
James Akinjo - Impressive at Georgetown
Lukas Kisunas - Role player big at Stanford

INSTEAD OF

Hurley's 2018 Class:
Brendan Adams...
Tarin Smith...
Kassoum Yakwe...

The Huskies would be in pretty good shape right now if you add Matthews, Akinjo, and Kisunas, to Bouknight, Gaffney and Akok.

Judging by watching Brendan Adams lately, that 2018 class was a debacle - and it stunted the growth of this Huskies team going into Carlton/Polley/Gilberts upper classmen years. Brendan Adams is not close to the caliber of Akinjo and Matthews. Smith and Yakwe were just bodies.

A) Not a single one of those Ollie recruits are holdovers, so this is entirely irrelevant

B) Matthews is averaging a bit under 8 a night as WVU's fifth-leading scorer, hardly a star

C) Akinjo has already left to go back West, no indication that a program that was bleeding transfers at the time would have ever kept him

D) Hurley's first real recruiting class (Gaffney/Bouknight/Akok) are already some of the best players on the team. 2018 was one of his URI recruits that tagged along and two grad transfers who were grabbed at the last minute. Using that as a "recruiting class" is disingenuous at best.

Well at least you get to play one tourney in the awesome "DICKIES" arena in Fort Worth before you're relegated to the mid-major Madison Square Garden next year.

This is why we went to double-OT with each other

I kept thinking that the way they play, the kind of players they have, and the struggles they deal with are a lot like St Johns.

I’d anticipate that’s sort of where UConn will fall next year - pretty much what St Johns is.

Nova wins this game, even if they’re shooting poorly, which is relative.

Nova should BLOW OUT UConn... to the tune of their Cincinnati and USF losses.

UConn is a low rung AAC team. They have a couple crackerjacks that can block shots... but Wichita ignored those guys and bulldozed them down low. It will be interesting to see how they use Sid Wilson now going forward (if they use him at all).

Nova can beat the Huskies in 10 different ways, while UConn can (maybe) beat them in one way.

To even have a chance, UConn needs to speed the game up. Alterique Gilbert is actually very good but the pieces he's been surrounded by are lacking and have made him do more than he should be doing. UConn is a super awkward team. Watching them play Wichita St only highlighted how role allocation for UConn is horrendous and their ineptitude is more structural in nature.

Your post was made in jest but Aresco actually lucked out with this arena emerging on the scene in the metroplex. Just like Jerry World, Fort Worth has been super active in scheduling college sports and high dollar musical acts at the new Dickies Arena. The venue is super impressive. It'll probably be the nicest looking venue hosting college tournaments.
The AAC should get this building on lock, imo, considering how rabid that area is for college sports.

So wait, to make sure I have this straight, your position is that a tertiary arena built primarily to house a livestock show and rodeo is a better basketball facility than the NBA venues in Washington, New York, Indianapolis, and Chicago?
