GW transfer DJ Williams to DePaul - eligible immediately

This seems kind of important.

George Washington transfer DJ Williams has enrolled at DePaul, a source tells 247Sports.

Williams is eligible to play for Dave Leitao immediately, and should help provide frontcourt depth. Williams' college eligibility concludes at the end of the season.

Williams, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward, played just one season at George Washington, where he averaged 13.7 points and 4.7 rebounds a game. Williams shot just better than 40-percent from the field during his junior season.

Williams started his career at Illinois, where he played for two seasons, before transferring to George Washington.

In high school, Williams was a standout at Chicago (Ill.) Simeon and the local Meanstreets AAU program. Williams was ranked as the No. 77 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite Rankings in the 2015 recruiting class.

Good news for DePaul, maybe he can help stop this tailspin they seem to be in.

It would be better for us if the tailspin didn’t end until next season started. DePaul did their job in non-con which helps us all but probably don’t have a high at large chance so them winning now just hurts the rest of us.

yeah need 9-5 rest of way to probably make the tourney....

and the way the schedule sets up- his first 3 games are home games with Butler, Creighton, and St John's. Then the rest of the season 7 of the final 11 games are on the road.

Super pissed Georgetown didn't get him. Not sure if we actually pushed or not, but if any team needed depth it's us. And he was right across the street!

yeah really the Hoyas could have used him....

wonder though, if he didn't play this year, could he be eligible for the full season next year?

Why is he immediately available? Is he a grad transfer? Or has he been at DePaul and NCAA just now decided he's eligible to play this season?
