It would've been nice of them to acknowledge it, but I agree it's not a big deal that they didn't. I'd have been surprised if they did. SHU asked, SJU declined, and that's fine. What I did find ridiculous though was SJU staffers not wanting Powell to keep the game ball and chasing him down to get it back.

Why would Powell think that he got to keep the ball? I can't say that I have ever seen a college basketball player walk off the court with a ball (a little different than in football).

What's wrong with a player wanting to keep the ball from a milestone like that? I don't think that's uncommon at all.
