BET or Regular Season Title

Do Fox pay for Xavier, Creighton, and Butler or did they pay for the BET? Put another way how much did Fox value the BE name and the BET? Based upon the responses here it sounds like the C7 overvalued the name and MSG.

You can have it both ways. At the time the C7 was Marquette, Nova, and Georgetown and 4 scrubs (sorry to insult but Cooley and Willard hasn't hit their stride, SJU was in rebuild and Depaul needs no explanation). Fox paid for three great mid major programs to fill out the schedule and attract viewership. That being said, we needed a name, had the budget to afford the name with the most Cache" and got it. Needed a place to play, had the inside track to get the place with the most cache'. One can think the BET is not the most important of the two, and that many of the East coasters overrate MSG but also still think it's worth it to play there and an incredible experience.

Correct, so there is a value in the BET for sure which is my point. Fox pimps it all the time once the season starts.

So Dayton, KY and Bellevue, KY are the south but are actually north of Cincinnati. Got it. Just for my own knowledge, where is it that is the Midwest? Is St Louis the south? Where do parts of Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana fit in this. What is West Virginia?

Oh, I'm not even worried about who's worth what or where the money comes from, I just want UConn to win championships. Given that college has a two-tiered championship system, if I'm given the choice between a championship and not a championship I'm going to choose the championship and then I'm gonna want UConn to go win the other one.

We've had decent success in it. I think we're still the only team in the league to play in the semifinals every year so far.

Technically...NJ Redman is correct. Kentucky is part of the South. West Virginia is also in the South. So louisville's RS and BET titles and WVa's BET title are not "Midwestern". Both ND (2000-01) and Marquette (2012-13) have shared a RS title in the past, and Xavier won the RS title outright in 2018. But no Midwestern school has ever won the BET until this year (2020).
