There have been several rumors in the past few years about Calipari and Coach K leaving their schools for the NBA, so everyone worries. I really only believe it is a problem if a school got lucky with the coach in the first place. If a school has a good administration though that values athletics as a recruiting and marketing tool for potential students then it likely won't be much of a problem. Marquette is a huge program, they would not have any trouble getting several good candidates lined up the minute Buzz left.

Sure but look what happened to us after Al McGuire. I think that's our big fear post Buzz.

What a good read this story was. Makes it really hard to root against a guy like that. Hope Marquette can hang on to Buzz.

Agreed. How am I supposed to root against this guy now? (Don't worry I will find a way when XU v MU rolls around)

A great read. I have tremendous respect for those that have busted their butt to get where they are.

I'm actually most excited to play Xavier out of the newcomers to the BE. I remember, most of the game, when we played you guys in the NCAAs a few years back and I hope we can get a good rivalry going. I don't really see Creighton being much after this year and Butler is a wild card with their recent losses.

Its nice to have a Denver friend on here :D

Wow, great insight there Daffron. Your insight is inspiring as Digger Phelps. I hope CU and Butler know it's time to move on.

Awesome. I just moved to Denver a few months ago so I will definitely be at a few game watching parties.

Mel- Sorry I was just saying my opinion on an internet board. In all honesty though CU has McDermott who is an amazing player, but he's gone after this year alone with Gibbs. There is going to be a drop in productivity. Your recruiting classes in the next year or two aren't at a level that will make CU a top dog in the conference. I may be wrong, but I just stated I thought Xavier would be a better contender and potential rival with Marquette for the next fews years. This year it could very well be a dog fight between MU and CU for the BE. I guess we'll see.

We will see howbuzzdoes this yr. I have Marquette as a bubble team. This is a legitimate rebuilding project. People picking them to make the dance this yr are not looking at how much Marquette lost.

If Gardner can stay on the court for more than 19 mins a game this season then quette will have gained more than they lost.
