To ward off being in a further gutted AAC, UConn could join the Big East for all sports but football. The NCAA has a caveat for teams to park sports not offered by their main conference (here - football) into a second conference. The AAC could try to bluff its way into making UConn believe it wouldnt allow a football only UConn in its conference, but realistically, its not like the AAC has a choice - UConn is going to be their premier football program after Louisville leaves.
Again - theory only. Will it actually happen? who knows. Probably depends on a bunch of moving parts.

I meant the exit fees that UConn will RECEIVE ... there has never been a situation like this (brought on by the mass evacuation of the old Big East). There is essentially $70M to split between 3 or 4 schools and the rest of the newcommers to the AAC get a small amount

The Big East teams are making somewhere between 4-5 million per team from Fox. The AAC is getting like 2-3 million a year per team for basketball AND football.

But unless Fox is going to pay the travel fees for all the other Non-Revenue sports, the West Coast isn't possible.
BTW, Screw UCONN, the point is that schools with football should be considered.
