The Big East will be the best conference in the land.

You're counting on a lot of B1G 10-8 thru 8/10 teams improving. None have the luxury of playing 3-5 cupcakes in the non.conf portion of a season.

MSU lost a lot in Tillman and Winston. Watts, Henry, and their center are turnover machines. Watts shot 24.6% from 3 pt land last season. They will depend on Langford for scoring and he hasn't played in 1.5 years. At the pivot, all 3 of Bingham, Marble, & Kithier are a crap shoot. Team has the look of a top #22-35 team rather than a top 10 team.

As for the BEAST, it'll be lil Creighton winning another BE Reg Season and will toss in the darned BET as well. Nova or UConn #2. For the purpose of this thread I'll guess 1-Jays, 2-Nova, 3-UConn, 4-X, 5-Prov.

You're welcome.

Hey Git,
Serious question. Please shed some light on why you, along with the mentioned early pundits, have last years mid pack AAC UConn predicted so high? Didn't they lose their top scorer and veteran PG? I know Bouknight is a nice player but this is NOT the AAC. Would you agree that things just got tougher for him?

Is it possible that there incoming freshman heavily factors in to the inflated expectations? If so, one could argue that there are some other BE teams with 2020's easily on par. Coach? Tradition?

Xuperduper. In thinking about the topic, whilst reviewing data for my upcoming predictions (Aug 15th), you bring up a good point. Mayhaps I had been exhibiting a bit of east coast bias (heh, heh). Both BE #1 Marquette, and BE #3 Xavier had excellent classes as well. Garcia will be a load and Odom is a really tough, top 50 kid.

I am more familiar with Sanogo and Brown-Ferguson. Many seem to think that Jackson (#50 247) is an underrated wing. He seems highly skilled. But my emphasis is on the Bigs: Sanogo is a monster in the paint and Brown-Ferguson is a top 4-5 guy from Canada and is highly, highly underrated by the US recruiting services. North Pole Hoops (.com) in Toronto have followed this kid for a long time, and he's gonna be a great one. If they can play together, I have visions of a Carr-Levingson type duo (WSU 79-82) dominating the paint: Rebounding, blocking/altering shots, intimidating opponents defensively - a living hell trying to score against them.

Team: Marquette Golden Eagles
Rank: 18
Commitments: Dawson Garcia (34), Justin Lewis (93), Osasere Ighodaro (118)
Marquette put together an impressive three-man class in 2020.
Garcia is the big prize, as the power forward has terrific size for the position with soft touch around the basket who rebounds his area.
Lewis is a physical specimen who is a tremendous athlete that rebounds, defends and is improving offensively.
Ighodaro is a versatile four man who can really pass it, while he scores facing or posting up and also rebounds.

No. 20 - Connecticut Huskies - The first Big East class in a while proved to be fruitful for the Huskies. Andre Jackson is an elite athlete who can get to the rim and also knows how to pass, while Adama Sanogo and Javonte Brown-Ferguson add size and depth on the interior.

Dwon Odom (Photo: 247Sports)

No. 22 - Xavier Musketeers - Travis Steele brought in a trio of four-star prospect, with top 50 point guard Dwon Odom leading the way. Odom is a potential game changer as a lead guard, while Colby Jones gives defense and versatility and C.J. Wilcher is one of the top shot makers in the entire class.

I love the visuals but not much substance. Still confused with the gushing praise for UConn. Can a nice 2020 UConn Class alone justify it? What about the hurdle from the AAC to the BEast? OR is Bouknight gonna dominate our conference? I think not, and he should keep a good damage control guy available because guys like Scruggs/Duke are going to have the upper hand.
