This is a great rivalry so it's probably nice that it's continuing. Fox probably doesn't mind getting to show this game every other year.

Coach K says he won't schedule Maryland after Terps' Big Ten move...When you're in Krzyzewski's position you can make these power claims and pretty much no one is going to stand in your way. He remains saddened and maddened by how the ACC has been stripped of some of its identity, and sort of in the same way that Kansas' Bill Self now refuses to schedule Missouri after the Tigers left the Big 12 for the SEC, Coach K will follow suit here.

That's how a boss does it.... follow suit hoyas.....bag the juice & renew the rivalry w/Maryland or something....just saying.

As much as I hate Cuse I'm glad that some rivalries can be kept. I'd really love it if MU could find a way to play Notre Dame or Louisville on an annual or bi-annual basis. Man do I hate Notre Dame.

Don't let petty arguments over Football kill a great Basketball rivalry. Keep GTown/Cuse going...I'd love to see Cuse keep playing Nova as well, even if that means they get exposure in the Philly recruiting market as well.

+1. The new Big East cannot afford to turn away big rivalry games over battles lost. We need marquee names like Georgetown to stay in the forefront. How do they do that ? Well aside from winning of course, scheduling major rivals like Syracuse...

I'm not saying you agreed with Nova, but wasn't Nova's main reason for keeping Temple out of the BE for all these years in bball was to protect recruiting turf. I just saying I don't get why most posters don't seem to agree with the idea that recruiting is more important than 1 gate payday per year. I'm only making this point about former BE teams who already had a historic presence in your school's market and only for the next 5 years or so. Let's see how easy a decision this is when your school looses that one 5* or 4* best player in the city/state recruit from your home area to that school.

There's too much made over owning recruiting or TV markets. I'm not sure how much Nova really earned the blame for Temple. Their football was really bad for a really long time. When they were finally voted in, it was facilitated by Nova.

Close geographical rivals are good for teams and strengthening a market. Nova has nothing to fear from Temple.

Agreed, but the GTown/Cuse situation is different than Mizzou/Kansas and some others. The splity was clearly coming eventually. But with Nebraska/Oklahahoma or Texas/TAMU, there is just too much anger and hurt feelings. Next time KU and Mizzou play will be a bowl game/tourney game and I can't blame KU at all....and I hate KU

As much as I dislike this scenario, I understand the benefit to Georgetown to maintain the big non conference schedule, just as all the schools should strive to do the same. That said, if there was any way to strike up similar agreements with other programs, than we should attempt to do this also. That said, no one should go anywhere near Pittsburgh for this type of deal. Let them rot on their own.
