Why, because it doesn't happen? Kentucky is clean? Memphis is clean? UConn was ever clean? Get real.

You seem to like throwing out accusations. What do you mean by "UConn was ever clean?" I'd counter by saying: UConn was ever dirty?

Get real.

UConn was just banned from the NCAA Tournament. Did Tarkanian even get that? This one's for all the UConn guys taking shots at SLU.
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

I agree that if everything depends on one good coach, the question has to be raised about whether it is "the program" or the coach. But VCU has made good coaching hires before Shaka. Anthony Grant got them to the tournament a couple of times in his 3 years before Shaka got there and engineered an upset of Duke in one of those tournaments. He was named CAA "Coach of the Year" in recognition of what he accomplished there. Before Grant, Jeff Capel rebuilt the program when he got there after it had declined somewhat and got them back to the NCAA tournament before turning it over to Grant.

It hasn't all been Shaka's doing at VCU. They've gotten to 6 tournaments in the past 10 years under 3 different coaches. And they have a tradition as a basketball school going back to 1980, having earned 12 tournament appearances since then. They have managed to get to the tournament in every one of the past 4 decades. That shows a consistency of good hiring decisions at the head coach level.

In addition to bringing in good coaches, VCU has invested in their infrastructure, which are first rate. Those include an on campus arena where they play their home games, which seats 7,600 and is expandable to 8,000, and a $14 million practice facility which is currently under construction.

No, I'm not going to elaborate since it is unproven, but that is where a lot of Georgetown's angst against VCU comes from.

Georgetown should talk. LOL. Patrick Ewing was diagnosed with a learning disability and was therefore allowed to take his exams orally. Given the level of academics at Georgetown, how many LD students do you think they admit annually? And how many do you think are allowed to take oral exams? LOL.

And then there was the case of Allen Iverson who was admitted despite being a convicted felon who had served jail time for his part in a violent altercation. How many students with that history do you think that Georgetown is admitting each year?

Georgetown is hardly clean on this count and should not be pointing the finger at anyone.

Yeah, Georgetown did get a negative reputation in the 90s, especially because of Iverson. But let's be real, athletes are never subject to the same admission standards.

Do you actually know why they were banned? It was one of the all time dumbest decisions and had nothing to do with them being a dirty program.

I'm not saying they are. Just saying that Georgetown is not the program to being throwing stones at anyone else.

You serious right now? Are you just willfully ignorant of UConn's recruiting violations?

I don't think it really matters in the long-run (unless it's like straight cash payments *cough* SEC *cough*), UConn is still UConn.

I'll agree to that. Most shouldn't. If you're not trying to push the rules, you're not trying. But Georgetown does have the most recruiting turf at stake with VCU.

EDIT: I really hate these quote restrictions.

So why is it dumb? Because UConn got caught?

4 years of data under baseline. Spin that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there an issue of a booster buying players as well?
