POLL: Is FS1 buried or together with sports channels

Postby dmac80 » Thu Sep 19, 2013 2:50 pm

On the forums I've seen some complaining that FS1 is buried and no one will ever find it. Is this the case? Let's find out.

Please respond with your provider, location, and Yes or NO as seen below so we can get an even better feel for this. Since FS1 is where almost all the BE games will air for now, we will only focus on FS1, also please only consider the location of the HD version if you have HD...

I'll start:

Provider: Verizon FIOS
Required package tier if known: tier 2 or higher (like ESPN)
Location: Southeastern, MA/Boston region
Located with other sports channels?: YES

I have Cablevision on Long Island

ESPN is 36 and ESPN2 is 35. Their other channels are up around the 140's

Fox Sports 1 is Channel 69
YES is 70
MSG is 71
MSG2 is 72
SNY is 60

So FS1 is right with everyone else for me.

With other Sports Channels: Yes
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

My problem with FS1 has been the overkill of UFC & soccer, otherwise I have no complaints. I know this will change once basketball season begins

Provider: Time Warner Cable
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Located with other sports channels?: No, on the regular lineup ESPN/ESPN2 are 29/30 and FS1 is 75. However, the HD version is right with ESPN and ESPN2..
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Marquette, doesn't the HD version kind of trump the regular version? I'd change your vote to YES if HD is right in the mix with ESPN/ESPN2. HD is where everything either is or is headed, and the number 1 priority for sports fans and providers. SD version is a complete afterthought for me. I don't have a clue where the SD version of any of my HD channels are because I don't leave HD anymore unless I have to (like FS2 for now)...

I think HD is a different tier than regular, although I haven't looked at the tiers in a couple of years. I guess I will have to look into it.

Edit: I'm still not sure, website is somewhat confusing, but it looks like the HD is extra.
