Worst ncaa tournament calls

Some that come to mind

1989 - seton Hall's phantom foul on Robinson to lose the freaking national championship
2005 - Allan ray's phantom travel against eventual national champion unc in the sweet 16.
2007 - blatant flagrant by Greg oden against Xavier (justin cage?) in the second round to gift the game to the top seeded buckeyes.

Obviously I'm biased, but the general consensus is that there's no way that call gets made in today's world of over exposure & replay.
I think the circumstances (3 seconds left in OT for the National Championship) trump every other horrible call for the worst ever.
To his credit, PJ has never said anything bad about John Clougherty.
* Note: the Oden non-foul was pretty egregious

Without a doubt, the call against Seton Hall in 1989 was the absolute worst. No contest!

I agree with Jopo. One of the worst non calls was in the 1999 regional final game between Ohio St and St. John's, Scoonie Penn pushes Erik Barkley causing the turnover which iced the game.

Has a bball championship on any level ever been decided by free throws? Allen & Nova vs. UNC was text book incompetency! What about this.

I was in the Carrier Dome for the 2005 Nova UNC game.

That was my senior year. That silly "I'm still preoccupied...with 1985" song had come out earlier in the year.

I'm still bitter about that. Very, very bitter. :x

Although it benefited Butler and was the right call according to the rules, the foul against Pitt was one that sticks in my mind.

I think the one with Syracuse and UNC Asheville a couple years ago where the ball was clearly out on Syracuse that would have given UNCA a shot at the 16/1 was one of the worst ever.
