IIRC, I don't think Marquette or Creighton stormed against Villanova this year. Only UConn.

FWIW, I don't have a problem if fans want to court storm. Let them have fun. But as someone who doesn't like UConn, you're damn right I can needle that fanbase over court-storming in that spot. I get that it's a super emotional win, and it's the culmination of 8 years of frustration. But you're still court-storming as a team that has won 2 titles in the last 15 seasons against a very good Villanova team, but not a vintage elite Villanova team.

I don't care about them storming the court, and I get the UConn excitement over this game.

What I didn't like was "the torch" being passed, as if the Huskies are ruling the roost now. They're the third-place team.

Meh. It was a bit of a half-assed court storm anyways with just the students behind the hoops. You could see the older folk in the other seats rolling their eyes.

Some good news for the league: Apparently our AD spoke with the BE office today and Breeding is unlikely to ref the BE tourney.

I'm not going to comment on the officiating.

My input here is that the game itself - the environment, those two teams going at it the way they did, a seemingly apparent late-game victory by Nova, and the heroics of a 3-point shot followed up by a very critical trap play by UCONN (yes, okay, Gillespie got completely mugged) - was truly special television.

That game was nuts. It doesn't mean that UCONN will now run away with the BE for the rest of our time on earth, but it simply was a big-boy game that was battled all the way to the end.

THAT game can only be viewed as a good thing for the future of the BE, in terms of its appeal, notwithstanding that thingy I said I would not comment on.

Since a lot of Big East fans complain about how Villanova gets all the calls I refuse to do the same. It is bush league after awhile. Nice win UConn! Great atmosphere. BS that Hurley got tossed. Happy to have Luke Murray and UConn back in the Big East. That was old school right there.
