Do any of you new guys jump up and down like they do at Duke ?? I hate when the Duke students stand up all game and jump up and down. Just sit and watch the game and enjoy . Maybe the Big East should start waves like they have in baseball. And good riddance to Rutgers and their horrible arena. Your arenas are so much nicer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never even seen a student section that sits quietly. That's what makes college ball so great!

Us cellular arena seems to do pretty well despite not having any major tennants. But where are said skyscrapers? I'm clearly out of the loop.

Coming in '16 and '17. One is going to be on Michigan along the lakefront (45 stories, mixed apartments and hotel rooms), the other is going to be where Nortwestern Mutual is currently (35 stories, still owned by Norwestern Mutual but made to accommodate the growth of employees they expect between now and 2030).

As to the Cell, they don't have much in the way of major tenants but they do have some decent draws. The Milwaukee Wave (Major Indoor Soccer League) goes to the national championships every year, and win fairly often. They draw 5,000/game and generally fill 10-15 nights per year. UWM fills another 12-15 days a year and draw (at the Cell) generally around 3,000. They get concerts on occasion, professional wrestling, and Disney on Ice hosts their events there. Truth is, the Cell kind of struggles to make a profit. If the BC lost the Bucks, Admirals and Marquette I doubt they would pick up those small time kinds of shows. Everything that is currently in the BC could easily be moved into the new arena, and I don't see any major sports franchises moving in as anchor tenants.

Anyways, with all my tangents I suppose I should probably comment on the actual topic of the thread. I've only attended college games locally. Bradley Center, US Cellular Arena, Klotsche Center (ugh), and Kohl's Center. Of those I would say the Kohl's Center is the best, with the BC not too far behind. US Cellular is adequate for what they have. Klotsche is kind of like a high school gym. I think all of our facilities are probably very good, which has helped to contribute to our success.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

They have in the past - they did that same year when we beat Duke. But to be honest, I would rather them not storm the court anyway.

Could you possibly sound any more like a crotchety old man right now? Do you not remember what it's like to be 18-22?

Yeah I didn't get this at all. Sit there and watch the game and enjoy? I'm all about cheering and or standing at the appropriate times for the majority of fans, but there is nothing worse than those who just sit there emotionless the entire time and react little at all to what's happening. And the students jumping and making noise and making a home court advantage are one of the best things about college basketball, hands down. It is what separates the NBA snoozefest from the live charged up atmosphere of college ball.
