on the flip side, don't think Nova will drop much at all. Maybe 1 spot.

I think it's a good result for the conference, as is UCLA faltering a bit.

WCC has their brackets somewhat set....
Gonzaga 1 seed, St Mary's 2 Santa Clara 3 San Francisco 4 and BYU 5

USF and BYU will play in a QF while Santa Clara gets Portland most likely.
Then in SF the USF/BYU winner gets Gonzaga while St Mary's gets Santa Clara.

Think if USF and BYU win easy games on Saturday and then BYU beats Pacific in the 2nd round of the WCC tourney- the WCC has clinched at least 3 bids. 4 still is possible.

BYU/USF loser has no shot. Even the winner will be sweating come selection sunday if they fail to beat Gonzaga. You don't get 7 wcc losses and "clinch" anything. There's a reason BYU is looking for games to play, they're not very optimistic.

The winner would be just about a lock- winner would have at least 4 Q1 wins. I'd say especially San Francisco- they have great metrics and if BYU is in top 50 in NET(they were 51 going into tonight) the game in the WCC tourney would be a Q1 chance which would be 5th Q1 win for them.

USC struggling with Oregon St. lose there and man Marquette would have had a great bye.

My guess for tomorrow-
Nova 11
Providence 13
UConn 19
Marquette 23
Xavier 28
Seton Hall 32
Creighton 35

SF does have great metrics, and they'd probably feel safer than BYU if they make it to wcc semis, but I think you might be overestimating their distance to the cutoff line. I think it's really 45 or 46 with the way things are going, and SF will see teams pass by them with big wins if they can't get one for themselves. Currently 1 OVC, 1 AAC, 1 MVC, and 1 A10 teams are in the field. There's no shot of that happening.

USC might have the worst resume in the top 25. 1 good win at home vs. UCLA and... nothing else noteworthy. They have a Q3 loss and Oregon State is a Q4 loss even on the road.
