We keep hearing that nasty rumor, but in the Cincinnati area, we are surprised when we CAN'T buy beer at a game.

Locally, Xavier, UC, UD. Wright State, and NKU all have on campus arenas, and all sell beer. We even have a couple taps for local craft beer, some imports, Leienkugel even setup their little log cabin stand on the concurse last year. Oh, and wine is also available. Cheers!!!!

At Xavier, from 1984-1999 we rented the Cincinnati Gardens - and they sold beer, and one article says when we opened Cintas the decision was made "The fans are used to having beer, and we've never had any issues with it, so let's continue that"

As far as arenas go - I haven't really been to many arenas outside of A-10 land. Our own, UD, UC, NKU, Wright State, and an infamous trip to the Palumbo Center (Duquesne U). It's just too long a story why that one is infamous. Oh, and we do play the occasional game at US Bank Arena on the riverfront in Cincinnati. Nobody likes that arena, from what I can gather, it's only redeeming quality is being near The Banks entertainment district. (Of those, Palumbo was the only place that didn't offer beer)

I hope to go see Hinkle Fieldhouse, but this year our game there is 9pm on a Tuesday, so that won't work. I need to see when our game with St. Johns is, as I believe St. Johns has us booked into MSG. Then see if tickets and airfare are agreeable,

I checked the box on my XU season ticket renewal to be informed of the Big East Tournament fan travel package, so I'll see if that could work,

Oh, and look in my ealrier XU season ticket holder thread for a slideshow link for more Cintas photos, including some of locker room areas.

Our affiliate Denver definitely sells beer(Coors and Molson) at their Hockey and Basketball games on campus. Colorado also sells beer at the coors events center where they play their games(on campus) also coors obviously.

Maybe it's like an old rule that got overturned or something? I mean enough people think its true that it has to have had some substance.

This article says that the NCAA bans sales/ads at their championship events, but is not involved in on campus decisions. So it sounds like its up to the school.

Here is how a court storming should be. No half assed wandering around.

I strongly disagree that the new addictions have better home courts than the c7. Strongly.

The new additions have better in campus arenas, but the presence in the nba arenas is part of what makes the big east important and prominent. Without that presence, the conference looses some of its luster.

I believe it's up to the school but some conference's do ban sales league wide. I think I remember reading somewhere that the SEC doesn't allow sales for any of their events.

Carrier Dome is on campus and they serve beer.
All of the C7 off campus arenas serve beer.

It is just a ncaa tournament thing. Even the pre-season NIT at MSG serves beer. Big East tourney DEFINITELY serves beer.

Some schools are burdened by rules of their conference; some public schools are burdened by laws of their states; some schools just choose not to sell. While it’s a state law in Nebraska that public universities can’t sell alcohol on campus (with exceptions, private suites being one of them), Creighton isn’t held to this law. It chooses not to sell alcohol at on-campus athletic facilities (though it has no problem doing so at an on-campus bar). There have been rumors and signs forever that these chains are loosening –- there is often alcohol on the upper level of the soccer arena, there was beer sold in the stadium when it played host to a U.S. Women’s National Team game, etc. –- but so far, no such luck. Basketball and baseball are off campus, though.
