Butler picks up 6-11 NC State transfer Manny Bates. One scholarship remaining - likely to either pocket it for a mid-season transfer or go after a point guard to share time with the other guards.

Pretty impressive. Surprised Thomas was willing to come if he knew Bates was being pursued.

Butler has landed former Purdue guard Eric Hunter Jr. He is projected as the starting PG. The roster is now full.

Butler will be looking to replace Assistant Coach David Ragland (whom they had just retained as part of Matta's staff) as he has been hired as the new HC of Evansville.

A few notes from the Dawgs recently:

David Ragland introduced as new Evansville head coach.

Butler will, reportedly, travel to Cal-Berkeley next season with the return trip in 2023.

Ed Carpenter, Butler grad and strong basketball fan, will start in his 19th Indianapolis 500. The Bulldogs have a heavy presence within the IndyCar Series and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Yeah it's a hiccup for sure, but we have a few other big guys for once, so shouldn't cripple the Dawgs.
