Only a feeling? That's just sports. Easy to predict what won't. Hard to predict what will.

True, I guess I could channel my inner Marquette fan hubris :D , and predict that Nova will cake walk to a BE title, but that's not really my style.

So we're arrogant because our team is doing well in predictions and we're not particularly worried about the season as a fan base? Who's saying we'll cakewalk to the conference championship?

First I'm kidding, that's what the smiley is for. Secondly I'm replying to what I assume is j/k remark made to me(if it's not it only makes my joke more apt). Thirdly no one is saying you're going cakewalk to the BE title. I'm exaggerating, it's a joke.

But some of you guys are awfully confident with your boasting on here, I'm not the only one who notices it either, hence the j/k. Didn't mean to upset you.

But what you did isn't the same as what Omaha did.

In his poll, we voted on each spot separately with the result that any of us may have voted for the same tam multiple times. That's not what the guys in the CBS poll did. Each constructed his entire list first. Your way of counting eliminates voters from the tally. A team can win a spot with only a minority of voters agreeing on that spot. That's not what happened in Omaha's poll.

I'd be willing to concede the regular season to them right now, as long as they take a quick seat in the BET. Their fans would too so this should be easy. :D Anyway, yes they are a confident bunch. I don't think we can take them this year but that time is getting closer it seems

Just to add my 35 cents on all these polls - they are polls. They have very little to do with what may or may not occur and are made up by people who none of us would have run our respective teams. My pre-season order of finish looks like this:

1. Marquette
2. Georgetown
3. St. John's
4. Creighton
5. Villanova
6. Providence
7. Xavier
8. DePaul
9. Butler
10. Seton Hall

This is just my hunch. I would not be surprised if G'Town or St. John's won the league in the regular season. I would not be surprised if any of the top six switched two spots up or down. I think we get at least five NCAA bids and possibly six. The coach of the year will be the coach of the team that wins the regular season except if the team is Quette or G'Town. More than likely, this is totally wrong - but that's what makes it fun. I am not trying to disrespect any team with this list, nor am I offended if anyone thinks the Johnnies will finish in last place.

My poll looks something like this:

1. Villanova
2. Georgetown
3. Creighton
4. Marquette
5. St. John's
6. Xavier
7. Providence
8. Butler
9. Seton Hall
10. DePaul

But really the 5 spots could basically go anyway imaginable. Pick anyone of those top 5 positions and teams out of a hat and that's as likely to happen as some of these polls.

No, you don't even represent what I did correctly. The only difference is that we selected teams each round, whereas I simulated them submitting their votes for every round. We could change our mind, not vote truthfully to game it, or have different sets of voters, that's the differences. I did was as close as you can get to what Omaha1 did, which is simulate the survivor by having them vote for their lowest ranked team still alive every round.. Omaha1's poll certainly allowed a minority vote to be the 'winner' of a round. It happened during the 10th, 9th, 7th, 6th, 5th, and 4th place votes. It's not complicated.

Kidding or not, do you like being referred to as arrogant? Being confident in a team doesn't mean we all think their's no possibility of a lousy season. I don't think we need to apologize for being confident for our team, we hear the same thing almost every season about how it will be a down year. I don't think I've once picked Marquette to win the conference on this site, because I don't know if I've even made any picks. I don't like you lumping me in this. I think we have a chance and might otherwise homer bump us to first if I had to make a list, but I don't think I have.

Guys are passionate about their teams. There are certainly plenty of good teams and fanbases here.

Just like I'm passionate about nuking the A-10 before we get thrown out of another league.
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.
