10 teams back then vs. 11 now with UCONN.
The B10 sent 9 teams last season and earned 18 credits without a team in the elite 8. The ACC sent 5 teams last season and earned 18 credits with 2 teams in the final 4. Having a lot of teams add up. It doesn't help with perception, but B10 laughed their way to the bank last season.

I agree, but it's hard to go 8-2. And again, we need UCONN and Creighton to win their next games to top 2017's 7 teams.
not if you're seeded the way the league was this year. Yes, UConn got lucky, but then again, Marquette didn't.
Would it have been nice if Nova or Seton Hall had gotten in? Sure. But not at the cost of the seeds of the top 4 teams.

Considering how we started out poorly out of conference, I think 13 credits is really good. 15 or more would be amazing. Sorry part of my previous post was meant for Stever.

What you're saying is why I'm so pro expansion. With more teams, you can have more teams in the tourney, but still have the great seeds. Have your cake and eat it too.

How does getting more teams into the tournament help if we’re an expanded conference. Expansion only brings negatives IMO.

Because you can get more teams in the tournament, yet still keep teams getting high seeds. w/o expansion, it's a zero sum game. If Nova or Seton Hall had gotten in this year, they would have done so due to wins over the top 4 teams. That would have lowered those teams seeds. I mean, lets say one of those wins was against Creighton. Now instead of getting a 3 seed in round 2, it's a tougher 2 seed.
