I see Jay the opposite way. He's made his money, accomplished everything he really can, and now he's going to relax and enjoy it. Cash in behind the announcers desk for a few years.

With how stressful they say coaching is, I don't blame him. Don't be like boeheim and coach until you're nearly dead, go out and enjoy what you've earned.

I think a big factor is if this NIL stuff calms down and gets more organized.

I honestly hope I'm wrong about all this, because a strong Villanova has been so good for the league. But someone I trust has said Moore, Armstrong and Longino are likely to be leaving. Should that happen then Dixon would also likely leave and maybe look to play in Europe. Pretty sure Moore is a definite goner. Hope Neptune gets it together soon with his recruiting.

Yikes that would be devastating. The recruiting so far has been very underwhelming, is NIL a problem at Nova?

This new world of portal / free agency is insane. As a fan my take is just to sit back and wait to see what happens before making judgement. If in 2 months the entire roster changes, well... we'll see what we've got. KSU remade their entire roster YOY and it worked for them. Isiah Wong last year basically forced Miami to pay him or he would leave. Caleb Love reportedly made $750K at UNC last year but is now looking for better options. WTF? If current Nova players decide the grass is greener they certainly won't be the only players doing so.

In terms of NIL the report is that $450k was ponied up for Cam W. Not sure it is a NIL problem. None of these kids on the roster signed up to play for Kyle; they signed thinking they'd play for a HOF coach. So if they leave, they leave. But worrying about internet innuendo and unsubstantiated reports is silly. EVERY board has a post about someone who "has a guy that they trust who has inside info," which turns out to be a big, fat, nothing burger. We'll be fine...

Between transfers/NIL and NBA draft declarations, this time of year might be stressful as the season. You really don't know what your roster is like until June.

Regarding the portal, I've been checking it regularly and the vast majority of players are guys who are leaving for playing time. So mostly moving down a level to play, rather than for NIL. Nova's Angelo Brizzi ended up at Davidson, for example. That's a healthy thing. You only occasionally see a guy make what looks like strictly a money move, such as (anyone) to Louisville.

Previously, a guy like Neptune would get a few years to put his stamp on the program through recruiting, but now he'll be judged on the kind of roster he can put together in the next 2 months.

I'm going to be very disappointed if that's what the game turns in to. I've really enjoyed watching players grow from young newcomers to veterans over the years; players like Slater, Booth, Hart, back to Jays first recruiting class with Foye, A Ray and Frasier. Sure, there's always some players who leave early like Lowery, but a majority stay. If it turns into a revolving door, I'll still watch but won't be into it as much

Not sure how valid these rumors are, but some Georgetown peeps think he could be headed there.
