Well damn...looks like we gone. But before y'all grab your pitchforks, know that UCONN is not the only current BE school that has met with the Big 12/Brett Yormark...

I think everyone hopes you get the invite. It’d be more embarrassing to see you go from National Champion to the reject who was played like a rusty west Texas banjo just to soothe Yormarks battered ego. Sadly the $31 mil B13 payout still won’t cover your $47 mil budget deficit…

Bottom line: UCONN is a great basketball school with a football problem. A BIG football problem.

Yormark can meet with anyone he wants who otherwise has an interest in hearing what he has to say. He is doing his job. I would go so far as to say that the other Big East team's representative was fulfilling his job requirements, too, by understanding possible options in an ever changing landscape.

UCONN will do what UCONN thinks it has to do, but you are going to hurt us with respect to what our next media agreement could have been.

Beyond that, IMHO, you guys are chasing something that you probably have to chase, but you're going to get your teeth kicked in on the football side, and your basketball program is not going to improve its position, regardless of where the Big 12 stands in the sport. More to the point, given your history and culture, you stand a good chance of going into reverse again, albeit not as badly as what happened in the AAC.

One potential problem with going to B12 is UConn would be stuck there if a more desirable set of conference mates emerge from the ashes of the current ACC. Man, F college football.

UConn would thrive in the ACC. The Big XII will be AAC, Part Deux. Is the Big XII giving them a full share of the TV revenue?

Good luck with that. A 5 year old burns his hand on a hot stove once. UConn apparently didn't learn their lesson the first time. College hoops is a meritocracy; college football is a monopoly. The SEC and the Big 10 will own college FB. All others will bleed money and will not get enough eyeballs to warrant a lucrative TV deal. Can't wait until the CT taxpayers start asking why they are funding all sports to travel to Lubbock TX to the tune of millions in losses every year.

I played college soccer at Nova. Never jumped on a plane once in my playing career. Can you imagine the costs involved with not only the FB team (which will absolutely bleed money) but every sport on campus having to jump on a plane for EVERY away game. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Here's what you guys are heading for... 1. You're not a FB school. Temple thought it was a FB school. Syracuse thought it was a FB school. They sunk millions into chasing the brass ring and their demise is imminent. The best ACC FB schools will get gobbled up. Heck, why stop at 16. Those 2 conference might become (2) 20+ team conferences. UT and OU are just the start. Everyone else is a FB mid major at that point. UConn is not a FB school; they will not survive additional realignment (a year, 2 years, 5 years from now). Just a matter of when...

And the hoops program...stop me when you've heard this story before. No MSG, no regional rivalries, recruiting patch goes from DC to Boston to (trying) to be National. You'll be 2nd fiddle to KU and you'll lose all rivalries. NIL will be stretched to support FB, Women's BB and MEn's BB. Not enough wealthy UConn alums to support all those athletes. In 5 years UConn will be a shell of itself, groping for a lifeline. But here's the thing...the BE, like that 5 year old touching the hot stove, learned it's lesson and we won't be around to save you.

If you're a UConn Men's BB fan, this is NOT good news.

Have fun!

Yes, meritocracy. UConn football hasn’t had a winning season since 2010. They averaged 21,000 in home attendance this year after hitting a low during their FBS era of 14,700 the year before, their 2nd consecutive non-Covid year below 20,000. You have to go back 10 years to find the last time they topped 30,000 in home attendance.and yet UConn fans have deluded themselves into thinking that the Big XII wants their football program. They are being played.

The Big XII wants PAC-12 schools, not UConn. Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports has reported that the Bug XII has considered adding Gonzaga and UConn as non-football additions as a backup plan if - and only if - their PAC-12 plans fall through. Obviously there is no football money coming their way.

Sometimes there are people who just don’t realize when they have it good.
