Please, please, please beat Wichita State tonight. If you do, I promise to never say anything critical of Purnell or Depaul basketball on this board ever!

WSU fans are the absolute worst in all of college sports. Loud and horrible to be around. One of the best things about joining the BIG EAST for Creighton fans, besides getting to play better teams regularly, was to get away from Wichita State fans.

Go Blue Demons! The cheering from Omaha might be louder than the cheering from Chicago tonight.

Good luck to the Big East. DePaul is way overdue...I sense a win coming tonight. WSU is still a mid major no matter how good they may be. Once this crop of WSU players leave, they will go back to being best known for college baseball, not hoops.

2-2 would be ok- but with Providence as the winner. a Marquette win with a Providence loss is a wash at best.
3-1 would be great- with Providence and Marquette as the winners.

Yeah, this is OT, but the tourney to watch is in Maui. For the first time ever, all Maui teams enter the tournament undefeated. Dayton 4 and 0. Gonzaga 4 and 0. Baylor 4 and 0. So is Syracuse. Minnesota is 5 and 0. Cal is 4 and 0 and Arkansas is 3 and 0. Pity the poor hosts, Chaminade Silverswords.

You know, I get curious every now and then about schools so I did a comparison a while back between Wichita State, VCU, George Mason, etc (basically big public schools who've had recent tourney success). Two things stuck out about Wichita: (1) they really aren't that big, with just under 15,000 students; (2) despite not being that big, they accept 95% of applicants (!). I have never had any contact with their fans, but if they are that obnoxious I would not be surprised if it was related to that.

Anyway, back to the point of the thread. Good luck everybody! Let's get some wins tonight!

Here you go again. With Depaul playing the #12 ranked team tonight, no way the success of tonight only comes down to PC & MU winning. It's way too early to make it seem like quality victories by Depaul are less important than any other BE team's.

I think most everyone would view a DePaul win as a cherry quite frankly.

If we go 3-1 with PC and Marquette winning- that's a great night- no matter what DePaul does. It's not like we go 3-1 with DePaul losing- and we act like it's not a very good night.
