Great day today for the conference. Please Bluejays, keep your foot on the pedal and blow these guys out. In 185 minutes of basketball today, here at the half with Creighton, our 5 Big East teams have trailed for a total of only about 3 minutes.

Creighton is not the 20th best team in the country.

By the way, Carson takes steps or slides or travels almost every time he drives the lane... I mean c'mon...! Also, nice start to the 2nd half by CU... up 19 and with ball...

The last two scoring droughts that CU has had have both happened with Brooks on the bench. Also UTEP beat Tennessee 78-70 (UT was 7 pt fav) setting up a game with X & UT on Friday.

Xavier dealt with a perfect storm in that second half. Semaj left with cramps, Stainbrook was in serious foul trouble (and eventually fouled out in OT), all but one player in positions 3 through 5 finished with 4 fouls or fouled out (and that one player is the last guy in the big rotation), Dee Davis had 4 fouls too, Davis handled the press terribly on a few possessions in a row to give Iowa momentum, their second half FT percentage was terrible...Just an awful, awful game.

It's a small consolation (but at least a consolation) that they get to play Tennessee instead of UTEP. The 5th or 7th place game will not include anyone good, so at least they have one more quality opponent. For the sake of Xavier's SOS and for the sake of the conference, I'm hoping Villanova wins over Iowa in the championship.

Creighton is sort of old fashioned in the way they play. Below the rim, good passing, excellent shooting.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

Creighton wins with great effort 88-60. Best game played by a BE team this year (would've been X if they would've finished...refs uggghh)

by a wide margin even. wow. Kind of a dangerous one tomorrow with San Diego St. Steve Fisher is a really good coach.

I'm sure Buzz is enjoying this tourney getting to see them firsthand. Sunday could be interesting with Marquette and Creighton playing each other. Will get our first taste of what that matchup would look like if they can win tomorrow. could be potentially not so great for Marquette- could get their 3rd OOC loss here and with Wisconsin on deck- they could be like 9-4 or even worse 8-5 entering conference play. Buzz has his work cut out for him I think!
