How do You guys like this VCU in the C7 with 12-14 teams

Breaking News!

The Big East's new $2 million per team deal is less than what the seven departing Catholic schools -- DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall and Villanova -- are projected to earn when they form their own league, sources told ESPN. Fox Sports is closing on a deal with the Catholic schools worth about $3 million for each, sources said.
The new league, yet to be formed, is expected to have 12-to-14 members. The most likely candidates to join the Catholic schools, sources have told ESPN, are Butler, Xavier, Creighton, Dayton, Saint Louis, Richmond and VCU.

Don't really like it at all, sorry. And there's nothing new in that article, not to mention no indication of the pecking order of any teams (lucky for you, since you guys are listed last).

VCU, fine. 14, no please, unless it means something we aren't expecting.

Depends on who they add, but if it means adding all the debatable teams it will be diluting the conference. We get less of the top games and probably less money to the schools. If the debate was on 7 Georgetowns we'd probably be excited.

If you stay at 12, then you can play everyone in your division twice and the other teams once apiece. If you go to 14, that becomes impossible.

Have to agree with Yorost, 14 is far too many for my liking especially with some of the teams in the mix. Unless we're adding St. Mary's and Gonzaga then I'd rather go for 10/12 teams. I'm not sure what to make of VCU if I'm honest, good programme, great coach and fans but the whole public university profile doesn't sit with me.

I have grown to like the current 16 team league of the Big East. I would have no problem if the C7 expanded to 14 teams. And I hope VCU gets in, whatever the number.
