I watch as many Big East games as possible. I read that the Seton Hall game is going to be at Walsh Gym, so that's pretty cool.

Also, the Friars have enough problems without poking at other teams.

Also, I try to make a point of never criticizing other Big East teams. We get enough cheap shots from the a-holes on ESPN and elsewhere. This year Seton Hall is 1-0 vs the ACC and 1-0 vs the AAC... they had the Oklahoma game won until the refs decided to let the Sooners tackle players without calling fouls. So they lost 2 games by 2 points or whatever against sucky teams, without Edwin. DePaul has no awful losses. All 10 of us have RPI's better than 150. 8 of us have RPI's better than 100.

Also, with Seton Hall, many arguments were tossed around in the 80's about how they could never have any kind of success, but from 88 thru 94 they had great success and attendance. The pendulum always swings back and forth.

I have not been shy about my frustration with Seton Hall on this board. It is because we see them beating decent teams, and see them being seconds away from knocking off a good program like Oklahoma, and then they lose at home in front of 2500 fans to FDU AND St Peters. Multiple OOC losses like that will drive you absolutely nuts. They've got some talent but the winning culture is not there right now.

Look, we can lament what they've done so far this year but I'm going to tell you that before the conference season is over fans of other schools will scratch their head wondering how they lost to SHU. They will def get some scalps. And you look to next year and hope that IW is their hoops-Messiah (although if he is one and done that could do more harm than good), and that other NJ/NY kids follow him there. Let's give all of these teams a little time as this new league takes shape. In 3 years SHU might be top 3 in the league and Nova and Creighton might be bottom 3. Doubt it happening to Nova but you never know. And let's not forget that SHU was a FF team as a big east member. That counts for something.
Go Nova!

I agree, Seton Hall will beat some Big East teams this year which makes it really infuriating that they could lose to St. Peters and FDU. A team that has Edwin, Gibbs and Teague will beat some teams.

I like what DePaul is doing, and I think we need to continue to give Purnell time. You don't get a team like DePaul out of the tailspin they've been in without a lot of time, patience, blood, sweat and tears. The team last year while finishing in last and only won a few games had three go to OT with the potential to win something like 6 conference games last year. The games weren't the blow outs they used to be. They are becoming competitive. I think they can become respectable in the next five years and once the new building gets up and running. That should really rejuvenate the fan base and get some more alumni out to support the school.

Seton Hall on the other hand is in a much bigger hole with a much bleaker outlook. They don't have the money like DePaul, they don't have the fan support of the Blue Demons and they aren't in the best area to attract kids. I think they are going to fall even farther soon, I think Willard is using some shady recruiting methods that are going to cost Seton Hall dearly. If they weren't already in the Big East I don't know if they get an invite to the league. Sorry guys, not hating just telling it like it is. I think Willard is fired in the next two years, and the NCAA starts investigating around that time as well. Unfortunately they have yet to hit rock bottom.

Wow. How is it possible to keep a straight face & continue handicapping other BE teams' prospects after starting with a sentence like this. Let the games begin.

So following that logic I guess all the ACC teams that lose to UNC this season will be feeling the same frustration given UNC lost to 8-5 Belmont & 9-3 UAB already, right? It's cbb even teams that lose very bad games early can get better. C'mon Jet!

It's really easy when talking about the Hall. Willard is doing some seriously shady recruiting. Watch out, you have not hit bottom yet.

Bitter? No. Just know shady deals when I see them. A team like the Hall getting a number of top recruits with no on the court success, a coach on the hot seat and not the best campus/facilities. I see NCAA sanctions in your future.

Yeah, but UAB and Belmont are not FDU and Saint Peters and UNC has beaten MSU, Kentucky and Louisville....

There isn't part of you that honestly things that, is there?

First, belmont and uab are not as bad as st peters, fdu and mercer.
Second, unc has done enough to show thjat those games were fluke'ish and that they can play at a high level.

Seton Hall has not.

These excuses from the seton hall fans are almost as disturbing as the on court effort by your team. I don't think you realize how bad this year's team did our of conference, and the damage they have done to the league. And saying one player was out for one of those games is not justification.

If it were a one time thing, like the johnnies against penn state (who is no where as bad as the teams shu is losing to), then it can be forgiven. Even depaul's illinois state could be forgiven to an extent. But what seton hall did this offseason was horrible.

And isiah whitehead is not enough to turn things around. I think it is time to cut bait with willard, hire a coach who has more than one season with a winning conference record, and start working in the right direction. Seton hall tried to go cheap with willard, but it has obviously failed.
