I think james bell has been the biggest challenge to mcdermott's player of the year candidacy. You don't have him even on the second team? Other than that my first team is similar (I did poy + 5, but didn't decide on the fifth)

Cleveland melvin and stainbrook were not on my radar. After taking a second look at them, they still are not on my radar.

It's as if Bell read your thread. Well done.

Not sure I understand that post.

Bell played very well against syracuse. Nova lost. Syracuse is the #2 team in the nation, and the game was at their place. Are you criticizing bell?

My updated First and Second Teams through 1 game:

First Team:
Christon (Xavier)
Oliver (Seton Hall)
Cotton (Providence)
Pinkston (Villanova)
Manigat (Creighton)

Second Team:
Jordan (St Johns)
Stainbrook (Xavier)
Mobley (Seton Hall)
Brown (Butler)
McDermott (Creighton)

It will be fun to watch these teams develop.

A lot of Creighton fans just don't get what Manigat does unless he scores 10+, nice to see someone away from Omaha give him some love. (even though it was after he scored 16)

Is this based only on that one game? McDermott second team? That's going to look really bizarre when he is first team All American. I love Manigat -- but there is absolutely ZERO chance that Manigat is first team all BIG EAST and McDermott is second team.

Elijah Brown has literally been one of Butler's worst players. For players getting more than 15% of minutes, his offensive rating of 97.7 only outranks Jackson Aldridge at 90.5.

It is after the first game. We have 17 more to go. After the first game Manigat would be on anyone's ballot. He played great.
