Antoine Mason picks Auburn>PC

PC had been in the running to add depth to the guard position this spring. But then Josh Fortune decided to transfer so the luxury of depth turned into a necessity. With all the top targets off the board this late, it would have been really nice to get Mason. He was the 2cd leading scorer in the nation, 25ppg, and would have fit in nicely for 1 year as a 5th year senior who could play right away. Perfect because it would not have a negative effect on 2015 recruits.

Unfortunately he choose to go to Auburn. His father was an nba player who has a relationship with Chuck Person (on the Auburn staff). Bad news for PC as he would have filled an immediate need for 1 year. He decides to play for a worse team, in a worse conference, with less tv exposure, and all at a football school. Perfect example of how some players would rather lose if they are promised more shots.

The friars need to find someone ASAP or Kris Dunn better be 100% healthy and Lomaba (sp?) really benefited from that redshirt year. Right now they only have one ball handler with Dunn, and are an injury away from disaster.

Also with the loss of Fortune, do the friars really have any reliable 3-point shooters? I know Henton is capable but you wouldnt want him hanging around the arc that much. That could make them a very easy team to defend despite the frontcourt depth.
