The Dayton Butler point spread at Butler -3.5 stinks, IMO.

If you don't think it is big enough put down a bunch of your 401k

They don't have 4 wins in them, but they could have two. Why does being realistic bother you?

If they did win two, they will have "squeaked out" a 5th Sweet 16 in 10 years.

I wouldn't ever bet a dollar I found on the street on Dayton, let alone money I had earned and saved.

That said, the line stinks.

Where did you get the impression being realistic bothers me? I just think it's ridiculous to hope your team fails. It's bad enough in cases of draft prospects, but here we're talking about hoping against a conference championship.

It's your right to cheer how you want, but what's with the reminder on Sweet 16's? It has nothing to do with this season. You're the one hoping for your preferred seeding. If you're hoping for a run to the Final Four seeding doesn't matter, outside of exceptional luck you will face the toughest teams eventually. Round of 32 or Elite Eight, it doesn't matter.

Huh? You do understand how the line works - if you Think Butler is going to win big - then 3.5 points is nothing. Put your money where you mouth is if you think the line is too small.

I did not say bet on Dayton - I was guessing you thought the line stunk as in too small. I mean unless you thought it should only be 1.5 points.

Ok, let's do this. 50 large. I've got a friend in Switzerland that can handle the escrow.

I would never bet on Dayton but would be inclined to do it in this spot at what I believe us an unusually narrow spread.

Thats mind boggling a 6 plays a 11 and then a 3. An 11 is either a under achieving BCS school or an over achieving mid major. The Last thing you want is to have to survive an upset minded Belmont and then in two days have to play a 3 who just crushed a team from the sunbelt and has all of its starters rested. Also with just 2 wins Butler might be lucky to get out of the 7. If Temple ends up going to the big game you would have SLU, VCU, and Temple having higher seeds from the A-10. I'm not sure the selection committee puts 4 teams from the A-10 6 seed or higher. Yes, the Zaga-Inidana games get you in, but for seeding its what have you done for me lately. Seriously is four days not enough to recover?

X is a dangerous team? X has one player in Christian. You shut him down, X has no hope. I think a lot of teams are hoping they drawl X as a team in a down year.

Is there actually a SLU fan "educating" a Butler fan on tournament seed strategy?

You get the absurdity of that right? I get that playing in your 3rd tournament this century is super exiting, but try to keep some context.

Mind your own business. By the way, John Calipari basically said my opinion of conference tournaments yesterday. They are just a bad idea, propagated by TV to squeeze out a few more games.
