I vote to stay at 10. No need to add others just for the sake of adding others. I like the true round robin.

But IF they do have to go, STL and Richmond are the way to go. Split the conference East/West mainly for Olympic Sports.

What proof do you have that Richmond, or any other team is NATIONALLY more attractive? The answer is you don't.

Any evidence (and there is plenty of it) that Dayton is the stronger candidate will quickly be dismissed.
X does not in any way want UD to joint them in this conference. Dayton and X don't like each other. The dislike is very real. Thats is why this rivalry is listed among the best in all college basketball (espn). Many are willing to stretch the truth or totally ignore the facts in order to put UD in a negative light.

X fans are posting on every possible site in an attempt to bad mouth UD.
X will play politics (as will some others). EVERYONE IN DAYTON KNOWS THIS INCLUDING THE ADMINISTRATION. As they have stated so to the dayton daily news.

A proof of who has more pull nationally wasn't important to the comment. It's a fair criticism that the info poster only points to local numbers.

It's the same as VCU vs Richmond. VCU fans make a great case that VCU is a better draw (at least right now) in Richmond, but while that is nice it doesn't help at all in telling which school is the stronger brand for a national broadcast. It doesn't matter what the answer is, it's just that local numbers are only one aspect.

Goodness! Dayton fans are legitimately the worst at biased posting. If you are going to call Xavier fans out, then I believe some self-examination is necessary. The addition of Richmond provides another state, in particularly, a state which is not currently a strong Fox market. You really think that the bars and restaurants in Dayton aren't going to have Fox Sports Ohio if Dayton isn't in the Big East? No, they will DEFINITELY have it. However, Richmond/VA Beach/Norfolk places will not pick up a bundled Fox sports package if Richmond is not included. That is the point. The Big East media footprint is significantly expanded by the addition of Richmond (more so than the addition of Dayton). It honestly doesn’t really consider the fact that you all have higher attendance; you wouldn’t provide new opportunities for Fox. That is what we are talking about.

Politics is one of the things that got Creighton in. Their president is on Marquette's board. Now I am not saying that they are not a worthy addition, but politics always play a part. If Xavier, Georgetown and Villanova would rather have Richmond than Dayton, how is that politics? That might just be preference. Xavier does not want a close rival to recruit against. Georgetown and Villanova want another eastern school they can bus all their sports to. Georgetown and Richmond have insitutional connections and similarities. Villanova and UR have CAA Football ties.. Nothing is ever just by some set of numbers.
