Understand that Cincinnati media is controlled by Borecat honks. They have wanted Xavier to dry up and blow away for years.

They are presently in meltdown over XU being in a better league than uc. They will do all they can to bury the story or demean the Big East. This despite the fact that Xavier outdraws the Borecats continually.

Just numbers since there are 40,000 uc students vs 6,500 for XU and many more alumni.

Creighton just posted that they have a special announcement to make at 10am central tomorrow. Just 15 minutes after Xavier scheduled a press conference for 10:45am eastern time. Looks like tomorrow is the day.

Here is link to announcement:

Creighton has invited alumni and fans to campus for "A Special University Announcement" at 10:00am (Central) tomorrow. The email states that "This is a special moment in history for the University and Creighton Athletics." The email is 'signed' by Father Lannon, Creighton's president. Sounds like we might be invited.

Personally, I think if they can get to 12 this year, that's the best. Start the new Big East off with a full set of basketball-minded schools.

Still no word of any on-campus event at Butler tomorrow. Understand that both Butler president and AD will be in NYC for the announcement there. All of the basketball people leave this evening for Lexington. Not sure who would make the announcement on campus if we had an on-campus event.

Is the campus excited about the move?

been lurking the boards awhile...finally registered.

posting to see if EMT, or bostonfriar can reassure us flyer fans that 2014 is indeed still on for us flyers to join the BE.

a lot of talk in the past week and a half or so about a push for richmond. has dayton and possibly SLU fans nervous.

can either of you reassure/confirm it is still SLU/dayton in '14 or are you now hearing differently?

re posting what i posted yesterday...seemed to have gotten buried. hopefully EMT or bostonfriar sign back on. curious as to what they're hearing, think bostonfriar even said the schools had been determined already...curious if thats still the case.
