Well.... the question was asked and the answer was.... no... 10 for next year and the forseable... worded in such a way that the door was open for changes next year... then followed up with conference realignment is still ongoing... you never know... so... now its official that its 10 and the BE left open just about every possible rumor.

At this point i'm considering the matter temporarily case closed. 10 teams only. I have to get some work done this month and March Madness is going to take enough of a toll on my productivity.

I hope i get pleasantly surprised sooner than later... good luck.

Father Shanley's response at today's news conference when asked about possible expansion:

“We’re 10 for next year. We know that for sure. Whether and how we get to 12 is negotiable. We’ve discussed a number schools that are really strong.”

I'm thrilled to be a part of the BigEast! Great announcement this morning!

I would much rather stay with a single conference and play a home-and-away each season, and not multiple conferences. I'm sure that FoxSports1 will have something to say about the size of the league along with the presidents of the universities!
All for one... and one for all!

Proud to welcome Butler aboard the Big East as a Gtown fan.....now please do something about that message board. I'd call it mid-majorish but only if we were talking about mid-majors circa 1999.

Creighton fan here,

Been reading this board since December when the split was announced and waited to register until it was official that my Jays are joining. Excited for the great big east games starting next season. If anyone here knows where I can watch a replay of the press conference I would really appreciate it as I was unfortunately not able to see it this morning.
