Can't say that for sure since there does not seem to be any logic behind the choices so far.

What? Butler and Xavier were obvious choices as both programs and location. Creighton was pretty clear cut, too, other than location. You could criticize a lack of making NCAA runs, but they're post season regulars over the last 15 seasons, only missing out completely once since in 98 (including 9 bids). After the first 9, they were a pretty reasonable add, not far flung but more established, with great support, than closer schools. Maybe you thought someone was better, but Creighton was not a nonsense addition. Those three made sense.

To summarize where we are:

The NBE will either take Saint Louis because they're playing really well with a team Rick Majerus built in a really nice Arena with a good TV market but with a seemingly disinterested School President or they won't.

The NBE will either take Dayton and their rabid, booger-eating fanbase and noted Arena and their Tire Plant and all the TV sets in the Tire Plant break rooms or they won't.

The NBE will either take VCU because their coach is the 'It Guy' and their band is enthusiastic yet crude sometimes although their 'arena' has fold out bleachers and they have to deal with State budgets and legislators or they won't.

The NBE will either take Richmond because it has only had bursts of basketball success and a dispersed, small fanbase but has lots and lots of money and geography and relationships with Georgetown and others or it won't.

Have I forgotten anyone?

Don't understand the need for these type of comments about a school or community. First off you are showing your lack of knowledge about what you posted, there hasn't been a tire plant in Dayton for over 50 years. I know because an inlaw was a tire draftsman and their plant and home office facilities are somewhere in Oklahoma.

Smack talk is one thing but being totally disrespectful is another. Hope this forum don't turn into what so many have. Its been nice to come here and read informative posts regarding those schools already in, those 3 new schools being added, and the four/five schools being considered. Would hate to see the posts degenerate.

I"m sorry. I should have added "sensitive" to whichever prospective fan base that you represent and "classless fan base" to the Richmond description. If the Spiders get admitted, I'll gladly take to the sensitivity training program.

I think Moliva's post was in sarcasm or at least that is how i took it. He just simply and briefly pointed out the typical positives and stereotypical negatives for each school. His writing pretty much was at the tone of the thread.

Sorry didn't make myself clear. Agree Butler and Xavier were clear choices, and not knocking Creighton for their program, just the location thing as they jumped over St. Louis which was the logical stepping stone to Omaha. From mens bball its no big deal as I am sure most teams fly by charter plane but thinking from the logistics of the Olympic teams as I have three grand daughters that will hopefully be playing their sport in college within the next couple years. It was a topic that was brought up regarding their choices to where they might want to go. The thought of traveling on a bus (which is what most Olympic teams seem to do, unless your Duke or UConn etc) for more than 5 hours just didn't seem to appeal to them if they were to go to the NBE. They are getting offers from several schools in different leagues and travel is one of the issues they are considering. As long as they don't go to a Big Ten school (unless its Nebraska) well be fine. Of course its there choice should they get and accept an offer, but being a Pac12 guy and my wife (and her relatives) cornhusker fans we hope they don't go Big Ten.

Was stationed in the 60's at Lincoln Nebraska and made many a trek to Omaha so we are very familiar with Creighton and the distance to most other major schools. Its not a knock on Creighton, just thought St Louis would be the logical 1st choice along with Butler and Xavier and Creighton being added as 11th.

Sorry if I didn't get it. I come to these boards to get enlightenment on eastern teams since my college experience is from the late 60's and early 70's all on the west coast. Not a fan of smack talk but can deal with it, but way too often on most of the boards I'm reading and trying to learn about various schools there are insulting remarks that are neither smack or informative.

Don't have a school to support yet since my grand kids are just looking at schools of their choice. Only two in college now, one at Georgia Tech and one at Miami of Ohio with another enrolling in the fall at Stetson in Fla. Hoping the others pic schools more centrally located. Most of the grand kids that will be playing sports are girls so our concern and interest is for the Olympic sports where we would like to be able to see them play. Only one boy in athetics and he will be playing football at Stetson. Never heard of them till he decided to go there. He's not the greatest athlete but has good size and since Stetson is just starting up a football team he should have a good chance for playing time.

I'm sure many people don't want to hear about another school, but I always thought Davidson made sense for the Big East. They are a quality academic institution with a solid basketball tradition in a state that loves college basketball. They may not be a major school in NC, but being about 25-50 miles north of Charlotte would draw interest if they were in a major conference. Now that they are going to the A-10, they may get more attention.

I've always been curious about them. Have they ever really done anything outside of that year with Curry?

I like the idea of trying to push into ACC territory, but it seems as if all the worthy schools are already taken (and/or play FBS football).
