I agree the past few articles from Jersey Guy have been off base and basically ripped the BE. (or new BE)

I never really like the Jersey guy much and don't put much stake in what he has said, most of his predictions and comments have proven to be false. While it is possible that the BE will select another commissioner - there are other valid candidates it will not be due to any thing that he posts.

On a side note there is a Nova grad who would make a good commissioner, i don't know his name off the top of my head so a nova alum will have to help but i think he was a former employee of MSG and is or was involved with the NBA's media department. I think he would be a good add especially if your going basketball focused- not that Gavit or Zaninovich wouldn't be good, its just that there are other valid alternatives.

Why is ajerseyguy getting so worked up about the Big East's search for a commissioner? They are vetting candidates, so what. If Tim Brosnan is a leading candidate for the position, below is a link to his Bio so you can get a sense of what qualifications they maybe looking for.

The Nova boards mention Scott O'Neil, a VU alum who has apparently worked for the NBA and NFL in addition to running The Garden, as a good possible candidate. I don't have any information on whether he is under consideration.

That might not bode well for MSG negotiations. He didn't leave there on good terms.

...so there is a league office w/staff already set up???

Why bring that up? You have to assume it's a pressing matter when they've already said they may take 2-3 years to establish a permanent location for league offices. It's just not something to rush hiring the commissioner for, the conference does not need a full staff and office location to manage this next season.

Ajerseyguy.com really takes the presidents to task for not getting this figured out already. I hadn't considered the impact on the other employees who are waiting too.

He can't say much about the Big East anymore without ranting about the presidents. He rants his whole way through his latest post just to say that the temporary commissioner is working on those very details. He skews things very negatively when we know some of them have plans in place and are being worked on. Like scheduling, he wastes a paragraph on it without mentioning the sports were divided among the schools to handle scheduling for next season. There are valid complaints about the situation, but his rants don't even try to be fair. Sure comes off like he's got a personal problem with the Big East.

As for the employees, he just rants they aren't hired, yet. I don't think we've heard of any long term hires except the head ref. If I'm not mistaken, he won't be working at the conference offices, anyways. Not certain who you think is waiting.
