Best balance of cheap, easy, and convenient parking would be to leave your car in the Parking Lot in Secaucus Junction (http://www.parkfast.com/do/regions?areaName=new_jersey) across the street from the train station, trains take 10 min into Penn Station / MSG and they do free Valet parking so you can just drop your car and leave. Not sure about the exact pricing but you can look it up on their website. My wife and I often leave our car there when we want to see the city but don't feel like finding a parking spot in the city.

Just a heads up though the last train back to NJ is like 1:22am (I think) so if you miss it you're not getting back until like 6am (later on the weekends).

I hope single session tickets are available. I'd try to make it for a day but couldn't afford to spend a week and wouldn't want to buy all session tickets if I wasn't going to use them all.

Single session tickets will be available on the secondary market. I got great seats for the 2nd day afternoon session for like $50. Those same tickets went for $200 for the night session so it depends on the matchups/session your team is in.

2 sessions on Wed & Thurs???

2 sessions = 2 double headers = 8 teams play the 1st day, then what?

me thinks this is the format, 1 doubleheader on day 1, 2 sessions on day 2 (quarter finals), 1 on day 3 (semis), and conf championship on day 4

I think we'll see two possible brackets. Here's the first one, which gives a bye to the first six seeds:

Wednesday:
Game 1: No. 8 vs. No. 9
Game 2: No. 7 vs. No. 10

Thursday:
(SESSION 1)
Game 3: No. 4 vs. No. 5
Game 4: No. 3 vs. No. 6

(SESSION 2)
Game 5: No. 2 vs. Winner of Game 1
Game 6: No. 1 vs. Winner of Game 2

Friday:
Game 7: Winner of game 5 vs. Winner of Game 4
Game 8: Winner of Game 6 vs Winner of Game 3

Saturday:
Game 9: Winner of Game 8 vs. Winner of Game 7

Here's the second possibility I think we might see, which gives the top two seeds double byes:

Wednesday
(Session 1)
Game 1: No. 3 vs. No. 10
Game 2: No. 4 vs. No. 9

(Session 2)
Game 3: No. 6 vs. No. 7
Game 4: No. 5 vs. No. 8

Thursday
Game 5: Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner of Game 4
Game 6: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 3

Friday (Semifinals)
Game 7: No. 1 vs. Winner of Game 5
Game 8: No. 2 vs. Winner of Game 6

Saturday (Finals)
Game 9: Winner of Game 7 vs. Winner of Game 8

no chance the 2nd scenario plays out...2nd scenario requires 8 teams to win 4 in a row...2 double bye teams 2 in a row...nonsense

MVC has had 10 teams for years. 7 vsm 10 and 8 vs 9 on the first day works wonderfully and provides great motivation to avoid the bottom 4 spots.

Both brackets have their pros and cons. You mentioned the biggest drawback of the double-bye bracket, but it also has the benefit of giving the conference's top two teams fewer opportunities to stumble at the end of the season. That lessens the risk of their NCAA tournament seed dropping, which would be beneficial for the conference.

If they do the first one, no way the top 2 seeds play in the same session. Kills the other session's attendance and punishes them with a quick turnaround giving the lower seeds more rest for the next day. In that scenario the #1 seed plays the first game of session 1 and the #2 the first game of the second session.

The WCC uses the second format...and I've always thought that played well for SMC and Gonzaga. Both get tired teams in the semis and then square off. I think it does help a conference, but I don't see the BE aiming at being a 2 bid league. They're going to want 4-6 as often as they can get it. That format really really hurts those chances. Fits for the WCC and other mid-major leagues though.
