Maybe the benchmarks are unrealistic so they figure they can dump us at will, while our schools just took what they could get? If MSG really needs to give the boot to the Big East for the ACC to come, how can they count on a non-guaranteed out?

If the conference is making money off it, MSG has no reason to look elsewhere. Also, the ACC has made clear that it will not have a permanent site for their tourney. MSG has made clear it needs to be a permanent location and is not interested in being part of a rotation. Barclays will open up in a few years when the A-10 agreement expires. What is interesting in when the ACC requested bids in the Fall for the tourney from 2016 to I think 2022, neither Barclays (which was available or the Garden submitted a bid. There are no reports out of New York from anyone indicating MSG is about to host the ACC.
