Who gets added to the new league??

The home for Big East hoops

Mason? Cmon.

A Post source said though St. Mary’s and Gonzaga are attractive candidates, the travel costs to fly non-revenue teams cross-country will almost surely make adding them prohibitive. The source said Butler, Dayton, George Mason, St. Louis and Xavier are the top five options as the league seeks to transform into an elite, 12-team, hoops conference.

Yeah, once he mentioned Mason and Duquesne, he lost all credibility.

Is there any chance Uconn and Cincy stay for hoops only? Or maybe for everything but football? Those schools are going to be desperate for a good league.

I wonder if the MAC or CUSA would allow Cincy to play football only. Could be a win-win.

I'd go to 20 catholic teams - 10 each east and west/Midwest. Would be a great collection of schools.

If you can get good schools that make the NCAA regularly why wouldn't you add them? Add Gonzaga and St Marys. Add Creighton and Xavier.

Maybe in time GOnzaga would be doable, but initially I suspect the finances might be a bit too difficult to manage.

It's getting crazy now. The Big East has west coast schools in it. The Big 10 has 12 teams or so. The Big 12 has 10. The SEC has Missouri, who apparently is in the deep south now. We should make every school be an independent. Schedule who you want throughout the year and then have a series of small invite tournaments that lead to the big NCAA tourney.

If not the A10- Siena might fit for the new league !

1. T.U. Center ( in Albany, NY ) holds 15,229 (basketball)- close to alot of big schools such as Syracuse- UConn,-Rutgers, -St Johns, Providence College..

2. They have a GREAT fan base !

3. NCAA Tournament appearances 1989, 1999, 2002, 2008, 2009, 2010

4. They have defeated teams like Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Villanova, Vanderbilt , Stanford and Kansas State. And came close to beating Louisville and Purdue !

You are joking right!? Siena has been terrible since Mitch Buonaguro took over... They aren't getting back into the discussion of good basketball again for a long while... If ever.
